Five Animal Kung Fu
Kung Fu is a term that means "achievement through hard work", and while there are hundreds of styles, this class focuses on Shaolin Five Animal Kung Fu, which is one of the oldest and most famous styles. This style is a traditional internal Chinese system that combines the philosophy of Zen Buddhism and physical martial arts training. It was developed in the Shaolin temple in Henan province, China.
This style incorporates strikes and characteristics of five animals: tiger, leopard, dragon, crane, and snake. Students will have an opportunity to learn traditional forms (set movement patterns), a variety of weapons, chi'na (self-defense), sparring, and iron palm training.
Classes focus on developing attributes like flexibility, coordination, cardio, muscular strength and endurance, and a balance between body, mind, and spirit.
